The Muong ethnic community of Vietnam that living in buffer zone of National Sanctuary of Cuc Phuong has a tradition of using medicinal herbs for prevention, treatment & health-improvement. From the year of 1999 to 2003, the Project AP4-ICBG sponsored by NIH has been conducted investigation, examination & interview of the buffer zone hamlets' medicine men. The Project identified a total of 394 medicinal herbs, 50 folk remedies/prescriptions using for treatment of 19 diseases' groups.
